Comfortable, Safe and Effective Soft-Tissue Laser Treatment

Dr. Randol Womack is Peoria and Glendale, AZ’s ALD Certified soft-tissue laser treatment specialist, using advanced diode laser technology to enhance your smile and your orthodontic experience!

What is Diode Laser treatment?

Diode laser treatment provides several benefits for patients receiving orthodontic care. By using a specialized diode laser, Dr. Womack is able to safely, and effectively remove excess gum tissue in order to expose more of the tooth’s surface for better aesthetics and function. Your gum tissue serves as a “frame” for your teeth; orthodontic lasers are used to sculpt the gums around the teeth in a way that helps improve the overall appearance of your smile.

There are several different reasons why Dr. Womack may use an orthodontic laser:

IMPORTANT:  NO SHOTS ARE NEEDED FOR THIS PROCEDURE!!!

  • As a way to expose the tooth’s surface so that a bracket may be placed on a particular tooth.

Impacted cuspid                  tissue removed w laser       cuspid aligned in 6 weeks

  • kyler before laser
                               Impacted cuspids before laser exposure
  • Kyler after laser exposure
Cuspids exposed with laser ready for bonding bracket
  • Kyler brackets on exposure
Brackets placed on exposed cuspids Kyler wire in place after exposure
Arch Wire placed to bring cuspids down

6 weeks after placement of Arch Wire
6 Weeks after Arch Wire Place - Cuspids are down in correct position

  • If your gums become swollen and uneven at any time during your treatment.

  • To help improve your oral health while wearing braces, and reduce the risk of decalcification.
  • To improve the appearance of you gums and teeth after braces are removed.

How does the Diode Laser work?

AGAIN...    NO SHOTS ARE NEEDED FOR THIS PROCEDURE!!
The diode laser emits a ray of concentrated energy that delivers a narrow pulse, which removes very small areas of gum tissue. Patients treated with the laser are surprised to find that there is no discomfort during the procedure. Dr. Womack uses a topical  anesthetic before beginning the procedure, and the actual treatment takes only a few minutes.

Is Laser treatment safe?

If needed, laser orthodontic treatment is extremely safe, and effective. Of course, Dr. Womack will be able to determine if laser treatment is indicated by providing you with a complimentary orthodontic exam and consultation. Dr. Womack was certified by the Academy of Laser Dentistry examiners.

In summary, here are a few reasons why you should ask Dr. Womack about orthodontic laser treatment for your smile:

  • faster and more efficient orthodontic treatment
  • increased comfort and faster recovery
  • safe
  • less invasive – no bleeding
  • preserves the health of teeth of gums
